ALL ABOUT WOOL

Creators of all things wool! Cottage industry studio showing the process of wool from sheep to the shop! Providing workshops in the northwest for Needle felting, Wet felting, Crochet, Sewing, Spinning, Dyeing & weaving.

Here at All About Wool we have our very own resident Wensleydale sheep, from which we use their fleeces for various projects in our workshop .
The Wensleydale has a blue / grey face and long purled wool and is one of the heaviest breed of sheep.

It is categorised as “At Risk” by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
The Wensleydale is distinctive for its long curls and good quality wool which is used for spinning, felting and weaving and dying etc.
Because of its quality wool the breed commands a good price for its fleece and therefore is very popular amongst crafters.
